Hi, I’m Amy!
I help teen and young adults process the impact of trauma and uncover their inner strength so they can move beyond survival and start to thrive.
I do my best work with clients who are ready to look inward and make sense of what keeps them stuck. I believe curiosity, not judgment, is what allows real healing to happen.
In our sessions, we slow down, notice patterns, and build awareness around how the past shows up in the present. I’ve learned that when you can feel safe in your own body, lasting change and self-connection naturally follow
My Credentials
My background includes extensive experience in adolescent residential treatment and expressive arts programming, where I developed strong skills in trauma recovery, crisis intervention, and long-term therapeutic relationship building. These experiences continue to guide the way I help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut. I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Therapist and have advanced training in Polyvagal Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy which informs my mind-body and skills based approach to helping clients regulate their nervous systems and restore a sense of safety.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and spent over 20 years immersed in dance and the performing arts. I am also a 200-hour Certified Yoga Instructor, integrating movement and mindfulness practices to support clients in reconnecting with their bodies as part of the healing process
My Approach
I describe my therapeutic style as exploratory, collaborative, and honest. In our work together, I focus on helping you connect the dots between past experiences and present patterns; understanding not just what you feel, but why those emotions and reactions show up.
I aim to create a space where curiosity replaces self-judgment. This process often includes gently challenging unhelpful beliefs, exploring unrealistic expectations, and building perspective-taking skills that foster self-compassion and healthier relationships.
Drawing from EMDR, DBT, Polyvagal Theory, and mind-body practices, I help clients process experiences on both a cognitive and somatic level, supporting deeper healing and a renewed sense of safety within themselves.
